Top 4 Skin Supplements

Are you wanting healthier skin?

There are so many skincare choices that promise healthy and beautiful skin but you might want to look at some natural ideas before spending your hard-earned money.

Nutrition starts from inward and obviously the better your diet is the better your skin will be because of it. And this is where supplements come in. Here are my Top 4 supplements beneficial for your skin.

  1. Turmeric
Turmeric is related to ginger and has a lot of anti-inflammatory properties. It gets its health benefits from curcumin which not only combats inflammation but is a powerful antioxidant. Besides being good for your health these compounds help your skin to glow and can revive tired looking skin.
  1. Probiotics
  1. Probiotics are the good bacteria that are also anti-inflammatory and can combat acne and rosacea. They also help to strengthen the skin barrier, have an anti-aging effect and can help to promote a healthy gut which can lead to better overall health. I like Genuine Health and Natures Way Probiotics which I buy online at Well.ca
  1. Vitamin E
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps to fight free radicals and they are involved in the aging process. Vitamin E will not only help combat that but is important for your immune system function. Foods rich in Vitamin E are Broccoli, Spinach, Peanuts and Sunflower Seeds. You can also use Vitamin E topically on the skin.
  1. Maca Root
This plant helps stabilize your hormones and this can help to control breakouts. The root works directly with your endocrine system to help establish balance. This is beneficial for the skin and helps the body deal with stress and adrenal fatigue; both of which are detrimental in having healthy looking skin. Try adding Maca powder to your morning smoothie or adding a spoonful to a batch of Energy balls.  Try out my recipe below:

Maca Energy Bites

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter
  • ¼ cup rice puff cereal
  • ½ cup of honey
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon mini dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl and stir to combine.

Form into balls and store in the fridge.
