My journey with skin health began at 14, navigating the challenges of psoriasis and learning how to manage it. In my 20s, after switching birth control, I faced melasma—a condition that left me frustrated and searching for solutions. I was prescribed  hydroquinone without fully understanding its side effects, which made my skin more fragile and sensitive. The melasma returned after the birth of my first daughter, adding to my journey of learning how to care for my skin in a sustainable, gentle way.

But the moment that truly shaped my understanding of skincare came when I watched my mom battle Leukemia. Years of aggressive chemo and radiation took a visible toll on her skin, deepening my empathy for those seeking gentle, effective care during life’s toughest challenges. I often brought butters and oils to massage her skin when I visited her during treatments in Vancouver. My mom also inspired my foundational understanding of skincare—she was the only woman I knew in the 90s who consistently wore SPF and followed a skincare routine.

My dad, who passed on the genes for psoriasis and dry, sensitive skin, also shared wisdom that shaped my philosophy: never fully dry your skin after a shower. Instead, apply your body care products to damp skin to lock in moisture and soothe irritation. This simple yet effective practice became the inspiration for our Mist Then Moisture™ Method.
