Symptoms of Sensitive Skin include redness, itching, burning, and dryness, while Sensitized Skin may have symptoms like flaking, itching, and stinging.

To determine if you have Sensitive or Sensitized Skin, you can try the following:

Keep a journal of your skin's reactions to different products and environmental factors. This will help you identify patterns and triggers for your symptoms.

Pay attention to how your skin feels after using different skincare products. Does it feel tight, itchy, or irritated?

Try using products specifically formulated for sensitive skin, such as fragrance-free and hypoallergenic products.

How to Manage Sensitive Skin:

A skincare routine for sensitive skin should have minimal steps, be gentle and non-irritating.

1. Cleanse: Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser to remove dirt and makeup. Avoid using hot water, as it will increase redness in the skin.

2. Treat: Look for serums targeting "barrier repair" and antioxidants like green tea, Vitamin E & C, and Niacinamide to help calm down redness and soothe irritation.

3. Moisturize: Apply a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free moisturizer to hydrate the skin and protect it from environmental irritants.
4. Exfoliation: Avoid using physical scrubs completely.
5. Facial Oil: Use fragrance and essential oil free facial oil to help calm irritated skin.

6. Sun Protection: Use a mineral sunscreen with SPF 30 that is specifically formulated for sensitive skin to protect your skin from sun damage.

Consult a dermatologist if you are unsure or have severe symptoms. They can help you identify the cause of your skin sensitivity and recommend appropriate treatment.  It's important to note that sensitive skin can also be caused by underlying skin conditions such as eczema or rosacea, while sensitized skin is a result of external factors and can be prevented by reducing exposure to irritants and using appropriate skincare products.
